Part 2 Interview with Angela Marino:
This is part 2 of the interview with Angela Marino, Whyalla’s most successful basketballer. As discovered in part 1of this interview with Trevor Castle, Angela started playing Under 8s basketball in Whyalla for Bevan and played through to under 16 girls and A grade Women for the same club. From about 13 years of age she began commuting to Adelaide to play juniors with Sturt.
In part 2 Angela talks about her Olympic experience, representing NZ in 2004 and 2008, and then about her career in the WNBL. This was allowed the opportunity to edit in some vision from Olympic and WNBL matches which is always good for the Whyalla Basketball website.
If you take anything away from this interview it should be this – it is clearly possible for a little kid playing basketball in Whyalla to make it to the top level of this great game, if they are prepared to work hard enough.
The other thing is that clear “Pete” the cockatoo who was rudely interrupting in part 1 has finally learnt some manners.
