WILDCATS - Basketball club Formed in winter season 1988 with the amalgamation of Brorowa Bears & Nomads. The new committee with President Greg Hayes (Brorowa) & Secretary Elsie Allison (Nomads) strongly promoting junior development oversaw the forming of one of Whyalla’s biggest & most successful clubs.

ated the Woman’s A competition winning 10 consecutive premierships under the watchful eye of coach Jack Woodforde & Andrew Corbett & later with the men claiming seven guided by Dean Plane & later by Peter Boundy. 

Junior development programmes implemented by Coaches Trevor Castle, Dean Plane, Peter Boundy (to name just a few) have seen many juniors go on to be very good senior players & coaches.

Wildcats black & yellow uniforms have developed from the original handmade material to the sublimated mesh type, the club in the WBA to adopt this style of uniform the Nomads green & Brorowa blue colours united to become the alternative tops in the early days but has now been replaced by an all yellow strip.

 Wildcats caters for all ages and genders in the local Whyalla basketball competition.

Wildcats have always prided them selves of  having a strong active committee with good structures allowing them to build success.
