Aussie Hoops

Aussie Hoops is a junior program designed by Basketball Australia as an introduction to basketball for kids aged 5-9 years old. It focuses on basic skills development to give our youngest players the confidence to transition into real game play, (when they are ready). Whyalla Basketball is fortunate to have Local basketball legend Kylie Clothier run our program for us.

The Aussie Hoops program is delivered in 9-10 week blocks, synchronised with school terms. Registration is done online. Cost is approximately $5 a week. SA Sports vouchers can be redeemed for this programme. Balls, singlets and participation packs can all be ordered online when members initially sign up.
Term 1 and 4 are run on Saturday mornings Term 2-3 are run on Friday afternoons.

The Summer Nomination window for all clubs ends tomorrow!! A week later clubs will be asked to nominate teams to the WBA.

Hi there, my name is Jamie Phillips from the Central Districts Basketball Club.
I just wanted to let you guys know that we are running a girls only clinic in the school holidays with Tracy York (WNBL coach).
This is great opportunity to learn and a great way to get girls back into ...basketball before the country seasons kick off.

The WBA are always looking for classic old photo's, if you have any please send them thru.

If you or your parents know of the missing names in these old photo's and articles please let us know

A Subtle change has been Approved by the WBA clubs to try and keep the local junior competition even, by making it harder for players to move to clubs/teams that are already strong.

As agreed at the last WBA meeting Clubs will be given more power at Nomination and grading day this season. If you nominate an inappropriate team in juniors or seniors you will be regraded!!
