Roy Lydeamore – Life Member Testimonial,1995

by | Nov 23, 2013

Publicity Officer,

With reference to your request for information concerning my involvement in Basketball in Whyalla over the years I wish to advise that I worked as gatekeeper for 30 years, firstly at the McBride Terrace courts, the rec centre and at Jubilee Park.

My Wife (Enid)was also heavily involved as competition organiser and registrar for the same period.

I certainly had some interesting moments while gatekeeping at the recreation centre trying to keep an eye on some young fellows (and girls) who tried to sneak up the stairs instead of paying to go through the door.

Over all I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of making many friends and seeing my children and grandchildren playing in the sport.

My best wishes for the sport of Basketball in Whyalla.

Yours Sincerely
Roy Lydeamore
