1967 – ROBINETTES

ROBINETTES- Basketball Club was formed in 1967/68 by foundation members Elaine Dunn & Enid Lydeamore. Elaine was elected the clubs first president & went on to hold this position for 26 years. Starting with just two Senior teams the club prospered.

Robinettes won 9 A grade titles making them one of the WBA’s most successful female clubs. With 8 WA MVP awards from the 80’s & 90’s. Karen Sleep (Kemp) is the most decorated female player in WBA history. Other names of note are Lyn Cibich, Keryn Jacobs & Jenna Baulderstone.

In the early 00’s after toying with the idea of starting men’s teams they decided against this eventually merging with Spartans in 2003 to form Titans.

Lyn & Noel Sharp are other names that helped shape Robinettes in their later years.

LATTER DAY SAINTS (L.D.S)–In 1955 the Mormons basketball club became one of the WBA’s founding clubs.

POSTALS – Are one of the founding clubs of the WBA. They started as a group of workers from the South Australian Postal Institute.
