2021-2022 WBA Summer Finalists

Whyalla Basketball Association will be adopting the Basketball Australia concussion policy.

Continual research is uncovering the devastating effects of concussions in later
life. Studies have shown that more athletes from grassroots level of all sports ...are suffering the effects of CTE than from professional level.

We want to ensure that our members are protected not only for now but also in 10, 20, 30 years time.

Please take a moment to read the policy.

The matriarch of Whyalla Basketball and the lady whom our stadium is named after celebrates her birthday today. Happy birthday Pat Kemp from all of us. Have a great day, we won’t ask you how old you are, no doubt 21 again.

Steelers is not just for the kids!
There are senior carnivals around the state as well as the annual State Senior country champs. Whyalla used to attend these events but interest has waned over recent years.
It requires some organization, Training, team selections, coaches, scorers, ...referee's etc. If your interested in reigniting our senior program. Let us know :).

There are no Friday or Saturday games this week due to the Port Pirie Junior Carnival.
The rnd 6 Saturday games were played last weekend the Friday gams are scheduled to be played later in December.

Thank you to the SA Country team for our successful Sunday training sessions for Players, Coaches and Referee's.
It was great 🙂

We love feedback for our referees 🤩

Please keep sending it through! We are impressed with the amount of positive and constructive responses we have had 🏀
